Butch Pereira passed away on August 17, 2018, at the age of 66. He was born in Vallejo, Calif., to John and Mary Pereira.
Raised in Rodeo, Calif., Butch attended St. Patrick's Elementary School, where he was an altar boy. Excelling as a student and in sports, Butch attended John Swett High School in Crockett, Calif., where he was student body president and captain of the football team.
Butch went on to attend Stanford University as an honor student. Later in life, he moved to Folsom to be closer to his family. Over the years, Butch kept in touch with family and friends. He loved attending the "Big Game" every fall and meeting up with the "Rodeo Kids." He held various jobs, including advocate for mental health clients in Napa Co.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, and his sister, Cynthia Pereira. He is survived by his sisters, Linda Pereira Hansen (Bill) of Sacramento, Trisha Pereira (Bob) of Folsom, his nephew Perry Hansen, aunts and many cousins. Butch will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 825 7th St., Rodeo, on Mon., Aug. 27th at 10:00 am, followed by internment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in San Pablo.
