Arthur J. Hallisy
May 10, 1938 - May 21, 2018
Roseville
Art died peacefully on May 21 with his son and daughters beside him. He was 80 years old. Art was born to Wilfred and Theresa Hallisy and grew up in Crockett where he came to know many of his lifelong friends. He attended Crockett schools, graduating from John Swett High School with the Class of 1956. Art married young and he and Maureen raised their three children in Rodeo. Art was a fun and loving father to his family. Later in life Art married Lynn and they made their home in Roseville. His Roseville friends were a great support in these last years, especially since Lynn's passing.
Art had a storied and successful career in title insurance and real estate. His experience and influence allowed him to inspire and create opportunities to help others. Art had a spirited social life. He was involved in many activities with a particular interest in shaking dice, pinochle, bocce, and a good game of poker. He enjoyed traveling, old movies, and big band music. Art belonged to various civic and social groups, none more prestigious than the Town Clowns and the Friday Lunch Bunch. His sense of humor and passion for trivia were an enjoyment for him and for those around him. Art was proud of his Portuguese heritage. He treasured his Joseph family, spending many hours with them at Joseph's Fishing Resort and other family gatherings.
Art leaves behind his devoted children, Sean, Erin, and Tara, and his precious granddaughter Holly. Forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Art's life will be held at Hosselkus Chapel in Crockett on Friday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception following at the Crockett Community Center.
