MARTY L. DONOHUE
April 28, 1951 – July 8, 2009
Resident of Rodeo
It would be feeble for anyone to try to capture the essence of Marty Donohue’s soul in a few lines of an obituary, for this task in itself would take a lifetime.
Marty Lane Donohue was born in Vallejo on April 28, 1951 and grew up in nearby Crockett.  She was the third child to Hope and Erban Miller.  She joined her older brother Eddie, sister Suzanne, and was an older sister to Laurel, Shari and Robert Miller.  Marty later moved to Rodeo, where she and her husband Matthew Donohue raised their three kids Tami, Matthew and Jason.

To her family and friends Marty was a cornerstone from which they took support in moments of distress and advice in times of need.  Always a kindhearted person, it was not unusual for Marty to take in kids from the neighborhood and give them a place to stay.  One of young Matthew’s fondest memories of his mother was when she took in a homeless family.

She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.  During the holidays ,her house was as busy as Santa’s workshop, filled with love and  happiness as family and friends poured in throughout the day.

Marty never waited for life to come to her, and lived a life full of experiences.  She always acquired the best and shared it with those close to her,  often venturing off to Mexico, Hawaii and Tahoe.  She appreciated nice clothes, fine food and good company.
Marty passed away on July 8, 2009.  She will be deeply missed.  Her memory lives on through her children Tami and husband Clinton Massa of Rodeo, Matthew Donohue, who is currently studying abroad, Jason and Natalie Donohue of Green Valley,  her dearest grandchildren Tarah, Mariah, Savannah, Fiona and Delainie and the hundreds of friends she has made over the years.
Friends and family are invited to her Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2009, at Hosselkus Chapel, Crockett.
